This is a kind reminder about the one-day Buddhist meditation program conducted by Venerable Kelaniye Ajitha Thero on Sunday, 23 November 2025, in Newcastle, organised by the Sri Lankan Buddhist Association of Newcastle (SLBAN).
Venerable Kelaniye Ajitha Thero is a highly respected Sri Lankan Buddhist monk and an inspiring Dhamma teacher, well-known for his clear, compassionate, and practical approach to the Buddha’s teachings. His sermons guide lay practitioners to understand the nature of the mind, reflect on impermanence, cultivate wholesome behaviour, and lead a mindful, spiritually enriched life.

Program Details
Date: Sunday, 23 November 2025
Time: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Venue: Cameron Park Community Centre, 107 Northlakes Drive, Cameron Park
Program Outline
The day’s program will include:
- Observance of the Eight Precepts
- Basic meditation instructions (Kamatahan)
- Dhamma sermon (Dhamma Deshana)
- Dhana offered by the community
- Meditation practice
- Q&A sessions on meditation experience and Dhamma-related questions
Special focus will be given to guided meditation, especially for beginners.
Dress Code
Please wear white or light-coloured comfortable clothing.
Avoid transparent clothing, tights, shorts, three-quarter pants, revealing attire, and jewellery.
What to Bring
Please bring a cushion or mat for comfortable sitting.
Chairs will also be available at the venue.
